PROJECTS

PEQON has expanded its capital equipment portfolio to include materials handling and conveying systems.

North Mara Gold Mine, operated by Twiga/Barrick, recently completed the installation and commissioning of their paste backfill plant and underground distribution system (UDS) for its Gokona Pit.

PEQON was appointed for the detailed engineering design and supply of the materials handling conveyor system that moves the filter cake from the new filter press building to a filter press stockpiling bunker, whereafter the cake is moved by road to a secondary filter cake stockpiling bunker.

From here a filter cake transfer and loading conveyor system transports the filter cake at a rate of 250tph to the paste plant that feeds the UDS operation.

The total horizontal length of the four conveyors is 220m. This project will increase the reach and value offering of Peqon into other parts of the minerals processing sector.

The DOMINO Filter Press

The DOMINO GHT5000F is the largest filter press in the world. The first demonstration plant has been successfully commissioned at the Toque Pala copper mine in Peru. It is equipped with Diemme's AIDA smart technology and intelligent systems to give operators real-time performance data and remote access. The DOMINO is set to spearhead the global initiative for dry stacking of tailings, offering substantial

environmental and safety advantages.
